Jain religion welcomed ban over nonveg varak

Jain religion strictly prohibited any kind of use of animal parts in daily activity. Religious means have restricted Varak due to method of production of varak was traditionally over intestine of animals. But with the time new processes and  improvements developed 100 % Veg process by using Polyester. But uncertainty of Veg or Non Veg identification kept Jain people far from tasting glory of metal leaf. FSSAI stepped in 2016 strictly to stop unhygienic practices to deliver consumers best of food garnishing.

Mr Ankit Jain from Kota (Rajsthan) told about his views about this step "Jain Samaj adhere to strictness of delivering pity to animals. Due to our ethical means it was not allowed to consume. Even i visited Ghaziabad Plant of Veg processing but still i was not assured that my sweet shop having veg or non veg varakh. But now if these unhygienic and non veg varakh producers are banned, All jain samaj is excited to grab the royal taste of silver and gold leaf."
An another Jain devotee Mr Mayank Jain from Jaipur reacted delightfully about this news. He said now its ethical to devote gold and silver leaves or Chandi Varak to our temples as these are pure and veg for sure now. He also informed that jain temples were already in touch with veg processors but it was not easy for every jaini to search out real veg manufacturer.
  

BWC ( Beauty without Cruelty ) has stopped issuing certificates of ethical product ass it was not sure that the process discussed and presented to BWC India was actually followed by industries. BWC India requested to Government to implement ban over non veg practices of varakh making. 

During talk with KV Automation founder Mr Tara Shankar Singh, wh1o is widely known for developing process of Vegetarian and automatic process of Silver Leaves or Chandi Varak, discussed that “This move of FSSAI will boom market as many of consumers were avoiding Varakh due to uncertainty of standards of leaves production method, will now turn with assurance of vegetarian and purity standards. In market there are thousand of traders, those were dependent over handmade labors, now positively turning and querying for Silver leaves Production plant and desiring to adopt vegetarian leaves.”

Its imagination to developing takes time of years. KV Automation, pioneer of vegetarian technology installed one after one units in various parts of India and till 2015 more than 15 process lines are running successfully based on technology developed by this company.

As per market survey feedback from regular traders and sweet shops, everybody appreciating this move of FSSAI and expecting growth in demand of silver varakh. Also standardisation will attract new fields to be explored and surely consumers will get its benefit.

“To regulate the industry which has so far been dominated by the unorganized sector, the food regulator has made it clear that under the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011, relating to other food and ingredients, ‘no material of animal origin shall be used at any stage of manufacture of the silver leaf,” said sources in the Authority.
